Soups and Gumbo

It goes for only $6 and is quite a treat for the palate. The chicken soup or Sopa Pollo also goes for $6 and is certainly worth a try. If you are looking for something a little different, then perhaps the black bean soup or Sopa habichuelas negras may tickle your fancy. This soup selection goes for only $6 and promises a wonderful soup experience. The $6 plantain cream or crema platano is good as well. Other soups worth a mention include the $12 shrimp gumbo (Asopao De Camarones), and the chicken gumbo (Asopao de Pollo).

Salads
Cafe Puerto Rico also offers some salads to go with your meals. The list of salads, also known as ensaladas, include shrimp salad, conch salad, and chicken salad. All the salads are reasonably priced and range from $16 to $20.

Seafood
As you would expect, Cafe Puerto Rico offers a selection of seafood delights or mariscos to its patrons. One of the most popular seafood selections at Cafe Puerto Rico, is the Chillo Entero Criolla Encebollado. This selection features a whole snapper fried with Segun peso. There is no fixed price for this meal, and the price you pay depends on how much your selection weighs. The fillet in creole sauce or creamy sauce is also a must try. This seafood selection goes for only $17 and features a fillet in creole sauce or creamy sauce. Another seafood entry worth considering is the mahi-mahi fillet. This item goes for $18 and features a grilled and delicious mahi-mahi fillet, and trust me when I say that this is one of the most delicious mahi-mahi fillets around. I would even go further to say that this selection gives some of the main seafood selections on this list a run for their money. The Camarones Criolla a la ajillo goes for $19 and features shrimp in creole sauce or garlic sauce. The Arroz Camarones goes for $19 and features shrimp served with yellow rice. A similar seafood selection is the Arroz bacalao which goes for $16 and features codfish served with yellow rice. Another seafood selection worth a mention is the paella Mariscos. This selection goes for $22 for an individual serving of seafood paella.

Pork and Beef
Of course, Cafe Puerto Rico’s menu would not be complete without a selection of pork and beef. You can also locate this part of the menu by looking for the list of items titled “Carnes”. One of the most popular items here is the bistec encebollado. This selection goes for $12 and features beef steak with onions. The churrasco parrilla goes for $19 and features a 10 Oz skirt steak. Fancy a taste of pork? Indulge in the $ 12 chuletas de cerdo, which boast of nothing but sheer delight. If you are craving some pork ribs, you might want to go with the $12 costillas cerdo. Another wonderful pork selection is the masitas encebollado. This selection goes for $12 and features delicious diced pork served with onions.
